Belle and Wendy

Belle and Wendy are our sweet new paddock buddies for Nicodemus “Cody”! When it didn’t work for Angel to be Cody’s buddy, it was suggested to get Cody’s two mini horse friends from White Bird Appaloosa Rescue and Sanctuary, where they had been paddock buddies before Cody came to us. When asked, White Bird agreed!

Diane, Paige, and Alison picked up the minis and reunited them with Cody, who was overjoyed to have his mini friends back! The three of them love sharing the paddock together, and Belle and Wendy are just about inseparable. We’ve been using them with ranchers and volunteers in sessions, practicing leading, grooming, and horsemanship with them. Belle especially loves to run around and jump over mini hurdles while she’s being led. They’ve been a fantastic addition to the ranch and are well-loved by everyone!

Belle is truly “beautiful,” like her name means, with her white and brown patches and fluffy brown mane. Her Bible verse is Isaiah 52:7, which says: “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!”

Wendy’s name means “redeemed”! Her Bible verse is Exodus 15:13 – “With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed. In your might, you guide them to your sacred home.” Wendy is all-black with a reddish tint to her mane.
