Jane Yancey
Director
Jane Yancey has been with Wings of Hope Ranch since the very beginning, as one of the Co-founders. The opportunity to be a part of God’s work serving the needs of children and horses seemed to be a perfect fit for her. Her love of horseback riding, and her passion to serve children through utilizing her past volunteer and professional experiences has been a great asset to Wings of Hope Ranch.
Jane has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Her career in victim advocacy has spanned almost three decades, in the government and non-profit sector, having been the Director of Victim Witness Assistance for Hanover, and most recently Court Advocate for Hanover Safe Place. She has been an advocate for children in Hanover County, in such professional roles as Family and Children Services Coordinator at Hanover Safe Place, and volunteer roles as Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Hanover. In addition, Jane has been an active member of a wide variety of boards and teams in Hanover that provide valuable services and resources to children and their families.
Jane and her husband, Michael, have resided in Hanover for over 28 years, along with their two adult children and two Bernese Mountain dogs. She enjoys traveling, outdoor adventures, spending time with friends and family, as well as horseback riding. She is thankful for her small group bible study and is presently attending Hope Church. One of her favorite verses that brings her comfort is:
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV): “So do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
