Volunteer with the Ranch
Sharing Time and Talent
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the ministry, serving daily in many capacities. We are grateful for everyone who chooses to volunteer with us!
The four main volunteer opportunities are:
-
Barn Volunteer - take care of the horses
-
Session Volunteer - most needed! - work with a Rancher and horse
-
Facilities Volunteer - assists with Ranch maintenance and land care
-
Special Project Volunteer - use their God-given talents to fulfill a variety of roles from event planning to photography.
While experience working with horses or children is wonderful, we offer an extensive training program to give volunteers confidence in their role and provide a quality experience for Ranchers.
To learn more about Wings of Hope and see if volunteering at the Ranch would be a good fit we invite you to come out for a tour.

Barn Volunteers
Barn volunteers serve year round caring for our herd of horses.
Volunteers serve once a week during their assigned shift (about 2 hours). We offer two shifts per day, one in the morning from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and one in the evening (time varies seasonally.) Activities include feeding the horses, turning them in/out to pasture, cleaning the barn, and mucking stalls.
Barn Volunteers are age 16+ and commit to serving 3 months or more. Horse experience is preferred but NOT required! Volunteers age 14+ with extensive horse experience may also apply.
Online and hands on training will be provided to create a successful volunteer experience. Volunteers age 18+ are required to have a background check prior to training.
If you have a question, please contact our Barn Manager.

Session Volunteers
Session volunteers team up with a Rancher (child or teen) and a horse for 75 minutes, working with the same Rancher each week as a mentor and leader. Activities range from horse grooming, tacking, leading the Rancher on the horse, and taking part in a Bible-based lesson.
Session volunteer roles include:
Wrangler- serve as a mentor to a child and guide to the horse
Ranch Hand- assist with a Wrangler/ Rancher/ horse team
Gatekeeper- seasoned volunteer oversees all of the session activities
Session Volunteers are age 13+ (Wrangler and Ranch Hand) and commit to serve once a week for 8-10 weeks during a Spring, Summer or Fall season.
Online and hands on training will be provided to create a successful volunteer experience. Volunteers 18+ are required to have a background check prior to training.
If you have a question, please contact our Program Director.

Facilities Volunteers
The facilities team completes regular ranch maintenance such as weed whacking and mowing, cleaning up trash, event set up and anything else that needs doin' or fixin' around the ranch.
Volunteers are able to jump in as their schedule allows-- one day or on a regular basis.
